We are excited to share a little bit about our newest faculty member, Mr. Paul Wiedmer.
Paul Wiedmer was born in Switzerland to a Swiss father and an American mother. He is a bilingual German and English speaker, as well as being a citizen of both Switzerland and America. By his teens, Mr. Wiedmer had also acquired French and Spanish. After moving to the United States, he studied languages at NC State University and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Spanish. He holds a teaching license for the state of North Carolina for both Spanish and French, and was invited to join the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity.
After teaching French and Spanish at Broughton High School in Raleigh for a year, he was accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill to attend graduate school in Spanish Language and Literature with a full scholarship. After attending UNC, he joined the faculty at NC State as lecturer in Spanish and has taught there for nine years.
Mr. Wiedmer now joins RTHS as a part-time World Language faculty in search of new opportunities. He will teach Spanish and is designing the new German language program.
