Meet our faculty - Ms. Sarah Reid, Biology

We are excited to share with you a little bit about out newest faculty member, Ms. Sarah Reid. 

Sarah Reid is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a B.A. in Biology and minored in French.  Sarah was a part of the UNC-BEST program (Baccalaureate Education in Science and Teaching), where she earned both her high school science teaching license and science degree. Currently, she is certified to teach both Biology (9-12) and Science (9-12) in North Carolina. 

Ms. Reid recently completed her two year service as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guinea, West Africa, where she worked as a Biology and Chemistry teacher in a rural Guinean school. In addition to teaching, Ms. Reid led community development projects and organized several girls’ science conferences, including the first national Girls’ Outdoor Leadership Conference in Guinea.

Ms. Reid, a native of Richmond, Virginia, is also a licensed EMT-Basic and has worked several summers as the camp EMT at Camp Kanuga in Hendersonville, NC.  

Ms. Reid is very excited to begin her North Carolina teaching career at Research Triangle High School!
